Francesco Taskayali

Piano classic tradition meets minimalistic trends and Eastern rhythms in the compositions by Francesco Taskayali.
Francesco Taskayali (Rome, 1991, July 4th), at the age of twenty, has already produced two albums. The first one, Emre, is minimalistic and deeply emotional, while the second one, LeVent, seems to be influenced by Eastern odd rhythms, which he liked to experiment with in his latest studies.
His compositions called the attention of The Music Sales London Ltd. at first, which contracted with Francesco for a digital rights agreement to guarantee the right to publish his compositions' scores, and of one of the most important Italian mobile phone companies, Tim S.p.a., which used Iris, a piece included in his second album, as soundtrack for a commercial video.
Classed first for the Pianist Category at the Confcommercio Expo Eventi Estate 2010, he published his first album at the age of nineteen. The album was entitled "Emre" and it was performed for the first time on December 2010 in Rome. The first successful performance was a spur for a second one in the same place on January 2011, thanks to the enthusiastic audience. The collection of compositions included in Emre has been completely produced and published by the artist himself. It's characterized by a minimalist and neo-romantic style, influenced by Michael Nyman, Yann Tiersen, Ludovico Einaudi. Francesco has in fact studied these famous masters' compositions since he was seven, mainly as self-taught.
Two of the best known Italian dailies, La Repubblica and Corriere della Sera, presented the concert held on March 12th at Bibli, one of the most lively meeting places in the oldest quarter in Rome, Trastevere. On March 17th Francesco was invited to play at the commemoration ceremony for Italian national unity celebrated at The Place, the Roman live music club where international artists often perform. During the spring 2011 Francesco held several concerts: in Latina, Turin, and in Rome again at Felt Music Club&School, the jazz club in the Italian capital made famous by the frequent Barry Harris live concerts.
On July 3rd three unpublished pieces were performed at Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi, one of the most famous cultural and artistic events of the Italian summer. Here Francesco performed twice: at Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Palazzo Collicola and at Casa Menotti, the house where the founding composer of the Festival lived, become a museum.
The strongest trait of Francesco Taskayali's artistic character is undoubtedly the ability to merge and express the evolution of distant and different composition methods, with the ambition of communicating by his music the human opportunity to join distant social and cultural worlds. His compositions are able to stir up a strong emotional impact on the audience, and it's such a situation that makes the public increasingly support him. According to Reverbnation, the famous web-site of the music industry, Francesco is considered the second minimalist composer in Rome, with more than 5000 fans, and thanks to as much success on ITunes, people in Canada, United States, Japan and from all over Europe already know his music.
When these words finish, his music begins.
